Speculation swirled for weeks over what Amal Alamuddin would wear to her wedding to George Clooney. First, paparazzi spotted the lawyer leaving Alexander McQueen’s office (the red mullet dress she wore to the rehearsal dinner), then she was seen carrying a Stella McCartney garment bag (the bespoke two-piece ensemble worn at the civil ceremony), and just when everyone was convinced the 36-year-old would wear either of the two British designers, she goes and pulls a fast one on everyone and chose Oscar de la Renta.

Finally, after less than 48 hours of patiently waiting, a photo of Alamuddin in her gown has been revealed. The pictures appear on the covers of “People” and “Hello” magazines — the newlyweds sold their wedding photos to the tabloids and are donating the proceeds to charity — and show the couple in their nuptial best. The actor is (obviously) wearing an Armani suit and his new bride’s gown is an off the shoulder gown with floral lace applique. Alamuddin changed into a flapper-like beaded mini-dress for the reception. “We’re looking forward to everything,” Clooney told People. Here’s to a chic life!
