Amal Clooney has totally changed since giving birth — and her dress is proof
As they prep for their first public appearance since having the twins, Amal and George Clooney are proving that they haven’t lost their edge because of parenting — in fact, Amal might be even edgier. On Thursday night, the famous couple hit the town ahead of their 74th Venice Film Festival red carpet return.
Amal went for a rocker-chic look, which gave off edgy yet sophisticated vibes. Always chic, favoring fashion-forward suits for work and composed street-style ensembles, the piece was definitely a departure for her, giving off major rocker vibes. And if this is what parenting looks like, it looks good on her.
The human-rights attorney turned heads in a strapless polka-dot dress by Ermanno Scervino. Sounds simple, but it’s not. The frock features a bustier top with internal boning and asymmetrical gathered skirt panels that create a shredded tutu motif. There is some lace lining in the skirt and bust, which means there are sheer patches here and there. Amal’s date night dress retails for $5,080. A thigh-high slit and two-toned black-and-navy sling-back heels by Giambattista Valli added an adult effect.
Her hubby didn’t look too shabby either—matching her sleek levels in a black suit over a black button-down—no tie or top button.
Venice is the city in which they were married, so of course they look comfortable here. They re-created some of their wedding moments last night, gracefully disembarking a boat.
This fun dress certainly sticks out in Amal’s wardrobe. Usually she sways conservative (when it comes to clothing), opting for florals, stripes, and suits, with some sequins thrown in here and there for fun.
But last week she stepped out in a shimmery green Stella McCartney gown, with flirty sheer panels, shiny beading, and the most delicate lace. It seems like raising babies is bringing out a more youthful side of her, style-wise.
