Amanda Seyfried’s Engagement Ring Isn’t What You’d Expect
In an age where it’s not an engagement if it doesn’t involve a rock big enough to sink the Titanic, it’s refreshing to see Amanda Seyfried bucking the trend.
The actress, who’s getting hitched to The Last Word co-star Thomas Sadoski, has laughed in the face of bling, opting instead for a tiny but tasteful gold band.
Fans got their first glimpse of the subtle ring when Amanda stepped out to run errands with her gorgeous dog Finn in New York yesterday.
And it’s a low-key bauble for an even more low-key romance.
The couple first met on stage while starring in the play The Way We Get By, in 2015. Rumors of chemistry flew, but Amanda was dating then ex-boyfriend Justin Long, while Thomas was married to Kimberly Hope, who he divorced last October. So it wasn’t until the beginning of this year, when they started filming The Last Word, that they quietly got together.
And Amanda — whose rep confirmed the happy news to People magazine yesterday — insists she wants an equally understated wedding.
“I got married so many times in my life — onscreen!” she previously told E! News. “I don’t want a white dress! I’ve worn so many of them.”
“The fact is, that kind of stuff is less about the ceremony and more about the commitment. So it’s like children. That’s where it’s at, right? For me. But it’s different for everybody.”
