Amber Rose Really Really Really Wants Wiz Khalifa Back

It’s generally acknowledged that there are two types of celebs: those who court the spotlight, and those who shun it. The former live in LA and pay paparazzi to follow them through The Grove. The latter live in New York, where the locals don’t really care about famous people (not outwardly, at least). No one would argue that Amber Rose falls under the first umbrella. Rose (née Levonchuck) loves the spotlight: She’s publicly stirred up shit with everyone from Kim Kardashian to ex-bf Kanye West; she doesn’t really like to wear a lot of clothes; she’s tried to launch her own singing career. On Thursday night, she took to Instagram to confess her undying love for former husband Wiz Khalifa, with whom she had a son in 2013 and broke up with a year later. She wrote the following next to a picture of her licking Khalifa’s teeth:
My #ManCrushEveryday you know what it is…. We went wrong somewhere and even if we never ever get back together ( Even tho I pray, dream and hope we do) he will forever be the love of my life. The media doesn’t make it easy but fuck them we gotta live for reality and not society. We forever have a bond because we made a beautiful baby from our Love. Through all the ups and downs of our relationship my heart still beats for him every single day. I’m sick of putting on a front like I’m happy without him. I’m not. He makes me happy. He’s the only one who can. Regardless of how our lives Turn out in the long run he will always be the skinny tatted up stoner that has my heart ??
The thing is, plenty of the former kind of celebrity does this too. After the end of her relationship with John Mayer (the first time), Katy Perry provocatively told Vogue, “I was madly in love with him. I still am madly in love with him…All I can say about that relationship is that he’s got a beautiful mind.” They were back together within weeks.
Similarly, when Kristen Stewart was caught making out with Rupert Sanders, who’d directed her in Snow White and the Huntsman, she issued a public apology to then boyfriend Robert Pattinson. “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.” After sending the press into a tizzy for weeks, the couple remained together. (Eventually, they broke up: he may or may not be engaged to FKA Twigs and she may or may not be dating a woman.)
Such public cries for attention a second chance don’t always have a happy ending though. Robin Thicke used pretty much every news outlet available to beg for Paula Patton’s forgiveness after the “Blurred Lines” singer was allegedly caught cheating. Then she filed for divorce. Regardless of whether they love or shun fame, celebrities are used to getting their way. A fat paycheck and a recognizable face means very few people say no to you, and why should they think it’ll be any different when it comes to relationships? More than probably anyone else, actors crave public validation, and hearing an ex-lover tell the world how much you miss them might be just the thing to get them back.
