Antonio Banderas Is Studying to Be a Bespoke Tailor at Fashion School

Isn’t anyone content with just being a famous actor?! Antonio Banderas is the latest Hollywood star to try to cross over into fashion. But unlike almost everyone before him, he hasn’t found a licenser to let him slap his name on a t-shirt. Instead, he’s taking his new interest very seriously.

On Instagram, the 55-year-old father of one posted a photo of himself posing with dress forms at the most prestigious fashion school in the world. “The 2nd week of studies at Central St Martin begins. Intense, exciting, serious and fun all the same time,” he wrote in the caption.

A spokeswoman for University of the Arts London Central Saint Martins confirmed Banderas’ enrollment at the prestigious school, taking a short course in bespoke tailoring over four weeks. “[Banderas is] starting from scratch and learning the basics,” she told Women’s Wear Daily.

Whether or not the Legend of Zorro is a method actor and studying up for a role or is learning the craft to take on the likes of Victoria Beckham and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in the celebrity-turned-designer sphere, is still unclear. But he did tell a a British TV show earlier this year that he aspired to learn about the trade, so maybe he’s just following his dreams.
