Ariel Winter’s Most ‘Ridiculous’ Red Carpet Outfit Affected Her Hearing
Growing up in the public eye has its challenges.
Among those: Red carpet moments you wish you could erase. Forever.
“When I was younger — 10, 11, 12 — those were some pretty bad outfits. I remember earmuffs on the red carpet one time. They looked ridiculous,” Ariel Winter recalls to Yahoo Style.
The event in question was the 2011 premiere of Disney on Ice Presents Toy Story 3 in Los Angeles. Winter said that not only did the muffs look, well, interesting, she also couldn’t hear anything. So double style-whammy there, for sure.
Among her favorite looks ever, though, was the Mikael D gown she wore to the SAG Awards this year. It was sheer in the right places, and clung to her like a second skin.
“I loved the SAG Awards this year — I loved the gold dress,” she says.
Winter, 19, seems to have a good head on her shoulders, and appreciates the good, the bad, and the dubious in her life. She’s especially thankful for the eight seasons — and counting — she’s co-starred on the ABC hit Modern Family.
“I’ve never been ‘whatever’ in my life with anything. I’ve gone through so many things in my life that any good experiences, I don’t just pass over. I’ve really appreciated most of the experiences we’ve had on the show. We just love each other and we love making television together,” she says, crediting her TV mom, Julie Bowen, with giving her guidance when needed.
