Balmain Brings the Sex Appeal
With his muse, Kim Kardashian, looking on from her front row perch, designer Olivier Rousteing sent out a parade of overtly sexy options that are sure to become the reality star’s wardrobe staples come spring. Shoulders were sculpted, hems were dangerously high, and there were more peekaboo cutouts than a piece of swiss cheese. The young designer—he is all of 28—was inspired by his Fall after-party when Rihanna wore a fully transparent top and launched the night of a million Instagrams. “You have to admire the way so many of these stars manage to turn the tables on censorship,” he says. “They can’t be banned.” Based on the tidal wave of photographers that accosted Kimye at the door, not only will they not be banned but—after how many years in the direct spotlight?—it seems no one wants them to be either.
