Bella Hadid Shows Off Her Boxing Glove Love
Victoria’s Secret Angel Bella Hadid seems to be taking her fashion tips from Floyd Mayweather as of late. She came out Friday night sporting a laced-up look with some boxing-glove-inspired pants and a jacket. The occasion? A Paper magazine party to celebrate her gracing the cover.

Though she looked ready for a few rounds in the ring, she spent the night partying with singer Justine Skye.

And this is not the first time she’s rocked athleisure outside the gym. Hadid, a boxing enthusiast, has been spotted several times in and out of New York’s Gotham Gym wearing sports bras by Adidas and Victoria’s Secret.

Right before Hadid’s debut at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show in Paris earlier this month, she announced on her Instagram that she would be the new face of Nike.

Twenty-year-old Hadid took up boxing after her split with pop star the Weeknd (real name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye). Her trips to the gym, though, were more about staying in shape rather than for working out any romantic frustrations. Hadid and the Weeknd both cited scheduling problems as the root cause for their misfired romance and apparently parted amicably.
A source told People magazine: “Their schedules have been too hard to coordinate, and he is focusing on finishing and promoting his album. … Bella and the Weeknd still have a great deal of love for one another and will remain friends.”
Boxing seems to run in the family, as her older sister, fellow supermodel Gigi Hadid, has been known to lace up the gloves.
She’s even used her skills to fend off a prankster who grabbed her at an event in Milan:
In the wake of the incident, Gigi encouraged young girls to take self-defense training, saying: “I know people are put in much worse situations every day and don’t have the cameras around that provoke social media support. I just want to use what happened to me to show that it’s everyone’s right, and it can be empowering, to be able to defend yourself.”
Fan reactions to Bella’s boxer-chic look were positive, with emojis aplenty, though one fan pointed out the recent freezing temperatures in New York, writing, “NYC was like literally 10 degrees last night, how is she wearing this?”
Maybe she conserved body heat from working out? Check out a video of Bella going a few rounds below:
