Bella Thorne Thinks Nipple Tassles Are “Unclassy,” Sarah Hyland Loves Her New Hair & Other Fun Facts From Coachella

On Friday night, H&M took over the Le Parker Meridian Palm Springs, to celebrate its H&M Loves Coachella collection. The event featured a guest DJ set from Haim, who urged everyone from Bella Thorne to (a Miley-less) Patrick Schwarzenegger to Gigi Hadid to dance next to the pool, which was filled with glowing white H&M beach balls. Thorne, who donned her second outfit of the day for the event (she claims to go through at least three per day at Coachella), grooved to Icona Pop’s “I Love It” with a group of friends she vetted for the festival. “I wasn’t with the right group of friends,” she said, explaining that her previous Coachella experiences have been lacking. “You need people who are down to go to any show, like ‘Oh, yeah, let’s just go rage!’ When people are too picky and they’re like ‘Uh, I don’t know,’ it’s ‘God, leave. I don’t need you.’”
Thorne is a good host to her crew, too: The actress scored 15 VIP tickets and four artist passes to the festival this year. “I have a lot of people here,” she explains. “And I know everybody at Coachella.” As for what she’d like to banish from festival fashion? “Nipple tassels with the pasties are so unclassy,” Thorne. “There’s so many girls who show up with nipple pasties and tassels. It’s bad.”

Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland arrived later into the party as it began to get dark and the music – and drinking – was amped up. Her hair was freshly cropped under a floppy black hat and she was wearing approximately 50 pieces of boho jewelry. “I’ve wanted to do [cut my hair] since Halloween,” she said of her new haircut. “But I couldn’t because of Modern Family. I finally was able to do it. In the time between when I decided I wanted to do it and when I could because of work, everyone cut off their hair. Now I’m part of the trend, but I had this idea last fall!”
Hyland, who first came to Coachella six years ago, was adamant that she makes the annual trek out to the desert for a true love of music. Fashion, she says, is just a bonus. “I love things like this, because there’s fashion involved, but I am really here for the music,” the actress said. “There are so many invitations to so many different things – I couldn’t even count them on two hands – but I said, ‘I’m sorry, but I’d rather go and see Hozier and War On Drugs.’ I’m here for the music.”
