Beyoncé Dishes on the Secret to Her Bootylicious Body
Beyonce’s bootylicious and flawless—she’s told us. She’s also told us that she “woke up like this.” Not that anyone believed that, but on Monday’s Good Morning America, the songstress opened up about how she really maintains that svelte, red carpet ready physique.
“This is something I have to share with everyone,” Beyonce said. “I am not naturally the thinnest woman. I have curves. I’m proud of my curves and I have struggled since a young age with diets and finding something that actually works and that actually keeps the weight off. It has been difficult for me.”
So what is her secret to being fit enough to wear naked dresses on the reg? Going completely vegan. Which, if you follow Beyonce news, you’re probably like, “Duh.” In December 2014, Bey announced that she and husband Jay Z had created the 22 Days Nutrition plant-based diet with exercise physiologist Marco Borges. They called it a “spiritual and mental cleanse” that would whip your body and skin into shape, while also helping the environment. So why is she going on Good Morning America now? Your guess is as good as ours. Maybe sales are plummeting? After all, when the New York Times wrote about the Carters’ new vegan movement, Queen B couldn’t be bothered to answer questions on the phone, now she’s recording a video for all of America to see.
But really, one need not look further than Beyonce’s latest red carpet looks for proof that there’s something to the 22 Days plan. From the sparkly, near-naked Givenchy dress she wore to the 2015 Met Gala, to the black mesh Tom Ford number she wore to the designer’s fall 2015 fashion show, to her sheer genius Grammys looks (Bey wore a Proenza Schouler gown on the red carpet and a white transparent Roberto Cavalli caftan to perform), she’s the Queen of putting her toned assets on full display as of late.
Beyonce once said of her meatless method: “All you have to do is try. If I can do it, anyone can.” The truth is, Beyonce can do a lot of things that the rest of us can’t. But for now, we may just be passing meat “to the left, to the left.”
