To say that Olivier Rousteing had a big night on Sunday would be an understatement. The designer, whose own fame has taken off in the past year, dressed everyone from Taylor Swift to Chrissy Teigen for the 2015 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. But he also made one very major announcement: Balmain will be the next major designer collaboration with H&M.
In lieu of a press release, Rousteing took to the red carpet flanked by models Kendall Jenner and Jourdann Dunn. Jenner looked like she’d just stepped off the runway with slicked back hair, wearing an oversized, embellished blazer as a dress with thigh-high suede boots. Of her look, the 19-year-old said, “It’s super wearable and it’s awesome.”
Dunn, wearing matching thigh-high boots with a red satin mini skirt and a navy and gold top, praised her date’s brilliant designs. “He dresses the most sexiest women in the world. So when Olivier calls, you answer…and say, ‘Hell yeah! I want to be dressed in your amazing outfits!’” (We concur!)
Balmain is joining the ranks of designers like Karl Lagerfeld, Isabel Marant, Alexander Wang, and Versace, all of whom have collaborated with the Swedish retailer in the past. And the collaboration is probably in no small part thanks to Rousteing’s biggest fans—the Kardashian/Jenners, all of whom regularly wear his clothes on the red carpet (and in real life), not to mention Kimye, who starred in the brand’s ad campaign last year. Now the whole world can get one step closer to becoming a part of their tribe.
