Coming from America’s “royal” Kardashian family, it makes sense that little sister Kendall Jenner would be a target for bullying (and bait for unfriendly tabloids), though not as much as you would think. The reality star turned high-fashion model refuted recent rumors in an interview with Dazed magazine, saying that she was, in fact, not bullied backstage by other models.

“That has never happened, ever,” she says. “I would see rumors of girls bullying me backstage and putting cigarettes out in my drink, and none of that has happened. Everyone’s been really cool to me. I’ve never had one girl be mean…so far.”

Unsurprisingly, Kendall is not as susceptible to fashion’s inhospitality as her sister, Kim, whose Vogue debut surfaced a pandemonium of negative backlash. Rather, she’s admired by designers and fashion affiliates like Katie Grand, stylist and consultant to Marc Jacobs and Editor-in-Chief of Love magazine, who’s known to cast unlikely figures as models, exalting their status into fashion’s limelight practically overnight. Grand notably casted Ms. Jenner in Jacobs’ recent collections, including his fall/winter 2014 show, where she sauntered down the catwalk wearing a very sheer shirt.

The model’s appointment to Estee Lauder earlier this month is timely, as her career continues to blossom into a figure separated from her family’s TV show and more focused on her role as fashion’s new it-girl.
