When Anna Wintour says cut, you cut.
Vogue’s editor in chief reportedly instructed tennis star Caroline Wozniacki to get a trim and the U.S. Open runner-up complied (good girl). On Wednesday, the 24-year-old posted a selfie on Instagram with the caption, “Loving my new haircut! Thank you Anna Wintour for telling me I need one and setting it up for me.”
Wozniaki, who was formerly ranked No. 1 in the world, has apparently become fast friends with Wintour — so much so that they’re already giving each other beauty tips. Just the day before Rory McIllroy’s ex-fiancé went in for a trim, the two were spotted seated next to each other in the front row at Serena Williams’ premiere fashion show at New York Fashion Week.

Despite the editrix recently admitting in her “73 Questions” video that No. 1-ranked Williams, who defeated Wozniacki in a tense final showdown at the recent Flushing, New York-based Grand Slam, would be her female pick to play doubles with (Roger Federer for mixed), that hasn’t stopped Wozniacki from listening to Wintour’s trusted counsel. After the Denmark-native natural blonde followed the Condé Nast artistic director’s advice, the pair were seen together again at the Michael Kors show on Thursday.

Wintour, who has sported her hair in the same style for decades, was right setting Wozniacki up with a hairstylist. Long hours in the sun — and Wozniacki certainly clocks a lot of them practicing on the court — can cause hair’s ends to brittle and color to fade. Wearing hair in a ponytail or bun and using hair elastics a lot makes manes prone to breakage. Regular trims can keep hair healthy — and front row-ready and Anna Wintour approved.
