Carrie Underwood Defends Her Controversial Golden Globes Dress
Carrie Underwood isn’t here for haters.
At the 2017 Golden Globes, the country singer walked the red carpet in a bubblegum pink dress designed by Iris Serban that didn’t impress viewers or fashion watchers. Some on social media compared it to buttercream frosting, while others noticed its striking resemblance to a certain lady part.
Underwood’s response? Whatever.
“When I pick things for a red carpet, I go in and start trying things on,” the Almay-spokeswoman told Yahoo Beauty. “I just want things that make me feel good. That’s what it’s all about. That was me. I felt confident and ladylike. I liked the color and the ruffles,” she said.
This isn’t the first time she’s easily brushed off criticism. After her performance in Sound of Music Live! was largely panned by fans, she took to Twitter and said, “Plain and simple: Mean people need Jesus.They will be in my prayers tonight…” Last March, she even defended her fitness trainer who was called out by a stranger for exercising on the sidelines of her son’s soccer game. Underwood shared on Facebook, “I only hope he can learn to like himself someday so he can be an adult and stop bullying others for bettering themselves!”
