Couple's vacation pic is confusing the internet: 'What's homegirl holding?'

A glam photo from a couple’s vacation is confusing the internet thanks to shadows, filters, and a perfect pose.

Remy Smith and her boyfriend, Josh Kelly, took a picture in front of a tree. She’s wearing a tan crop top with white shorts and accessorized with a pair of hoop earrings — and a tree?

The image, which is total brain-busting optical illusion, was shared on social media by the Archbishop of Banterbury, a meme aggregator, and has gone viral.

Of course, she’s not clutching a fern in her arm, rather she’s carrying a small bag — that just so happens to be the same color as the bark of the tree. However, perfect placement of the bag has led to people contemplating the pic for hours trying to figure it out.

“Been staring at this for the past how long and still can’t figure out what she’s holding apart from a tree,” one person wrote on Facebook. “I can’t get her to stop holding the tree? What’s homegirl holding?” another person questioned. “I can’t work this out,” a frustrated individual commented.

Funny enough, even when people knew the answer, some still weren’t buying it. “She is holding a bag but that still doesn’t explain the bit on top of her bag which looks identical to the tree? Her whole top arm is missing?” a befuddled commenter pressed.
