Diane Von Furstenberg on Plastic Surgery & Open Relationships
You knew about the Andy Warhols. But the truly remarkable thing about Diane Von Furstenberg’s office is the in-house chef. In this episode of Fashion Bites, editor in chief Joe Zee sits down with the president of the CFDA to talk style over snacks—rather, salad made of veggies from her garden.
The two get to chatting about how Von Furstenberg’s iconic wrap dress has withstood the test of time. No, she’s not sick of it, neither is she tired of playing the boss-meets-mentor role on season two of E!’s House of DVF. “You just need young. You need to be in touch with the young people,” she says of the power of millennials.
Von Furstenberg may be one of the most fabled faces in fashion, but she’s an apt life-coach, too. Of her open-relationship and marriage philosophy, she says: “Every marriage is open or should be. Listen, my religion is truth. And I practice the truth.” And she’s sharing her recipe (literally) for women who’re trying to tap into their inner confidence. “You have to be you. Accept who you are. Improve who you are. Then think about the woman you want to be, put it all in a blender, and that becomes your style.”
