It's easy to see why this video of curvy models is so popular
Industry insiders have started a crusade to make Fashion Week more inclusive, with diversity of all kinds taking precedent on more and more runways. If social media is any indication, those efforts are paying off.
The official @NYFW Instagram’s most-watched video this season is an ode to body parts, shot from the Addition Elle runway. Featuring models of all sizes in statement looks and lingerie, it already has more than 45,000 views within less than 24 hours of being posted and plenty of supportive comments. The high viewership numbers are more than triple the amount of their second-most watched video from Fashion Week, which features Gigi Hadid and others on the Prabal Gurung runway.
It’s pretty clear as to why so many have gravitated towards the Addition Elle slo-mo video more than others shot in the same style. While Hadid shown in the slower style highlight’s the clothing’s movement, the Addition Elle version shows women’s bodies in all their glory.

As the caption points out, Ashley Graham closes the show (and the video) in a black matching set, and she’s not the only famous face on the runway. Jordyn Woods, model and Kylie Jenner’s BFF, also walked in shredded jeans and a lace bustier top. The label’s mantra is Fashion Democracy, which they supported with diversity on the runway and with availability off — they stock sizes 12 to 26.
Fans shared their support in the comments, with people weighing in to cheer on Graham and to thank the brand for showcasing such a range of beauties. “Fashion doesn’t matter with shape and size, it change your it’s makes you look more beautiful than before…” wrote one commenter. “This is what to see on the cat walk…full figured women of all sizes,” agreed another. Some put it more succinctly: “Woooorrrkkkkkkkkk.”
Graham was the stand-out of the show as she rocked two different lingerie outfits from her own Addition Elle x Ashley Graham range. When asked after the show about the industry’s slow progress towards inclusion, she called it sad. “It’s funny to me, because I’ll look at runways and think, ‘I’d look so great in those clothes’ or ‘I know curvy women who would look so great in those clothes,’” she said. “I was at Fenty last night, and that was an amazing show. But how dope would it have been to see some curves on the runway? I think Baja East would be really cool to have curves on the runway. Philipp Plein would be really cool.”
