Elle Macpherson Carries Pee Tests in Her Purse

Most professional models claim they owe their perfect bodies to genetics. But Elle Macpherson owes hers to urine tests! Well, urine tests and lymphatic drainage.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue-vet, 51, told the London Evening Standard that she “believe[s] that most ailments come from having an acidic body.” So, in order to ensure she’s keeping said acid at bay, Macpherson carries in her handbag “a pH balance urine tester kit to check that [she’s] in an alkaline state.” We assume/hope there are some air-tight plastic baggies involved there, too.
The Aussie model also noted that the first stops she makes when she arrives in London, where she owns a home, are at her nutritionist’s and dermatologist’s offices, the latter of whom performs lymphatic drainage. (Cringe-y as lymph node draining may initially sound, it actually seems kind of excellent. Macpherson’s doctor, Dr. Jean-Louis Sebagh, describes the process as “an intensely therapeutic treatment. A gentle method of rhythmic massage releases toxins from the skin, directing them towards the adjacent lymph nodes. Individual and prescriptive post-operative work helps to reduce swelling and improve the rate of skin, scar and bruise healing.” Don’t mind if we do!)
Of course, it’s not all just skin massages and pee tests. Macpherson also does intensive workouts 45 minutes a day, six days a week, and follows a strict diet (no red meat, wheat, or dairy). So, if we really, really had to guess, we’d wager that her pee tests come back pretty clean. But, you know… you can never be too sure. Perhaps there’ll be a new urinalysis pharmaceutical endorsement deal in the pipeline?
