'Everyone Is Clamoring to Dress Tiffany' Trump, Says Designer Anne Bowen
Tiffany Trump is making her own headlines on Inauguration Day, thanks to her fashion choices.
She wore a blush gown by New York-based designer Anne Bowen to Thursday’s Make America Great Again dinner in Washington. The silver-and-blush Swarovski crystal and Solstiss lace frock was hand-sewn. Yes, Bowen knew about the sartorial decision ahead of time. “Oh sure, it was custom-made made for her,” she told Yahoo Style.
Bowen and Tiffany Trump have been close for years. The University of Pennsylvania graduate is, says Bowen, “just a beautiful girl, coming into her own. It’s all great. She knows what looks good on her. That’s always a help. We just make a great team. She loves blush. I happened to have blush. We’re on the same page.”

As for designers who have stated that they won’t dress members of the new first family, Bowen tackles the issue with irony. “I think it’s kind of funny that now that he’s won and he’s the president, that now everyone is clamoring to dress Tiffany,” says Bowen. “Now they are. Maybe it takes someone to step up and actually not worry about it. She’s not political. She’s been a student. She’s a millennial.”
So it’s just fashion, as opposed to politics? “Precisely,” says Bowen.
Besides, Bowen isn’t using her collection to make any kind of pronouncement.
“I dress Kick Kennedy, the granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy. She’s been to my shows,” says Bowen. “I’m a designer. If I want to make a political statement, I do it when I vote.”
