For the First Time, a Target Collaboration Will Sell Plus Sizes in Stores
Target’s upcoming collection with designer Victoria Beckham isn’t available for purchase until April 9, but it’s already exciting customers across the nation because of one unique factor. Unlike the retailer’s past designer collaborations, the plus-size pieces from Beckham’s collection will be available in select Target stores.
The collection of more than 200 items — ranging in price from $6 to $70 — will be available in sizes XS-3X for women. It’s Beckham’s first step into both the plus-size and children’s wear markets.
“I want to empower women and girls and make them feel like the best versions of themselves. The fact that I can offer plus-size is really exciting. It’s a first for me, and it’s something important that I’m proud of,” Beckham told Refinery 29.
Target took major flak in 2015 with its extremely popular Lilly Pulitzer collaboration because plus-size pieces were only available online.
At the time, some called out the brand on Twitter, feeling that Target should have provided plus-size offerings on the rack.
@FatGirl_fashion Thanks for your interest in the Lilly Pulitzer for Target line. The plus sized collection will be available online only.

These disgruntled customers might have been behind Target’s move to make plus-size pieces available in select stores.
Like the discount store retailer, Beckham is also committed to including a wide range of customers in her new venture. “I can reach so many more women through working with Target,” Beckham told Business of Fashion.
“It’s not just because of the price point but because of how many stores they have, located all around America. These are women that I haven’t been able to reach out to in the past, and I always say that I want to empower women and make women look like the best versions of themselves. That shouldn’t be only people who can afford to spend a certain amount of money,” she said.
We reached out to Target concerning its wider availability of plus-size offerings, and Amy Koch, Target spokesperson, sent Yahoo Style the following statement:
“Target first offered plus within design partnerships when we worked with Lilly Pulitzer and have gotten a lot of great feedback from our guests. We’re excited to continue that with our Victoria Beckham for Target collection, with plus apparel available online and in select stores.”
