Forget Days-of-the-Week Underwear: Days-of-the-Week T-Shirts Are Where It’s At
Yahoo Style would like to introduce you to the #TheCurrent, a new column by Market Editor Julie Tong. Here you’ll find the latest fashion products and launches you should know about, and ones Julie proudly gives her stamp of approval.
I am not a person who owns one of those cheeky days-of-the-week underwear sets (especially after hearing about one customer’s unfortunate incident), but this new days-of-the-week capsule T-shirt collection by Parisian brand Maje has me very excited.
The collection consists of seven summer-ready T-shirts, aptly called SevenTees. Each T-shirt displays the French name of the corresponding day, paired with a lighthearted phrase and logo graphic, ranging from a lightning bolt to a star to a fish.
Take, for example, the Sunday, “Dimanche,” tee which features a psychedelic bubble graphic outlined with palm trees — a relaxing mood fitting for the day of rest. Other standouts include the Wednesday, “Mercredi,” tee featuring a man and a woman on the cusp of kissing inside a heart. My other favorites include the Monday, “Lundi,” polka-dotted tee, and the Tuesday, “Mardi c’est ravioli,” tee (aka Tuesday is ravioli).
Here’s a full rundown of each T-shirt’s statement:
Lundi au soleil (Monday in the sun)
Mardi c’est ravioli (Tuesday is ravioli)
Mercredi c’est permis (Wednesday anything goes)
Jeudi pas non (Thursday don’t say no)
Vendredi nuit blanche (Friday all-nighter)
Samedi disco (Saturday disco)
Dimanche… (Sunday…)
If you’re looking for an easy and fun way to update your traditional white tee — look no further. Styling-wise — if you’d like to dress them up, I suggest wearing them tucked into a wide-legged trouser with a blazer on top, and your favorite pair of pointy heels. You can easily dress them down (after all, they’re T-shirts) by wearing them with your favorite pair of blue jeans, statement mules, and sleek pair of sunglasses.
Shop the Maje SevenTees collection in all Maje boutiques across the U.S. Each T-shirt retails for $110.
Keep your eyes peeled here for the next installment of #TheCurrent. Don’t miss out on the next fashion tip or product scoop you didn’t know you needed.
