Katy Perry, FKA Twigs, & Lily Rose Depp Hit Up Moschino's Dance Party in the Desert

While Rihanna and Madonna were no-shows (the latter was no doubt gearing up for her “surprise” performance with Drake on the last night of Coachella), the energy of Saturday night’s Moschino’s massive house party was no less buzzy than if the two were commandeering the room. FKA Twigs arrived with her maybe-fiancé Robert Pattinson wearing a white lace dress studded with crystals. As paparazzi shot the happy (and notoriously secretive) couple, Twigs pulled her white dress over her head, blocking photographers, but also creating the illusion of a wedding veil. Those who missed it should YouTube her Coachella performance, which was both breathtaking and dance-worthy. We told her so while waiting in line for the bathroom. Her response, “Really? Thank you. The crowd’s so big, it’s hard [to tell.]” And yes, even FKA Twigs waits in line for the bathroom at a crowded party. So does R-Patz. They’re cool like that.
Also cool: Katy Perry, who arrived with her new opening musical act—Mia Moretti and Margot, aka The Dolls—in tow. “We leave for Asia next week,” said Mia, whose new M.A.C Cosmetics collection debuted on Friday at Coachella. “Alice and Olivia’s Stacey Bendet has designed some custom pieces for our show, but packing enough clothes for a month—it’s daunting.” But the blonde-on-blonde music duo is starting to take Katy’s lead: they all arrived with double-French braids plaited neatly behind their ears. “It took about 30 minutes,” said Perry who also sported giant gold door knocker earrings.“ But the good kind–when you’re with your friends, it’s fun.”

The dance floor was also fun, and packed with fashion kids: Alexander Wang, Devon Windsor, and Kitty Cash caused a near-riot when The MisShapes played The Spice Girls, Destiny’s Child, and the TLC anthem “No Scrubs.” Diplo and Skrillex took over around 2 am, and now we have a theory they’re the Matt Damon and Ben Affleck of electro-pop.
Meanwhile, Frances Bean Cobain hung by the pool, and Lily-Rose Depp—the fifteen-year-old daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis—perched with her friends by a giant cupcake stand. “It’s not a big deal,” she shrugged when we asked about her all-denim outfit, “It’s just Topshop… oh, and my top is vintage Alaia.” File under: Girls we want to be.

“You know the funny thing?” Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott asked, after leading Fergie (singer, not duchess) to a giant Teddy Bear sculpture in the middle of the party. “People keep saying Coachella is ‘over’! But how can anything be over when so many people come together because of music and creativity and love? Coachella’s only getting bigger,” he smiled, “because our hearts are getting bigger.”
