Guy Fieri, Carl Weathers, and 'The More You Know Star' Inspire Katy Perry’s Super Bowl Looks

Katy Perry is no stranger to killer costumes. (After all, this is the woman who once dressed like a giant Cheeto for Halloween.) Her spectacular Super Bowl performance on Sunday included a plethora of outlandish costumes created by designer and her best mate, Jeremy Scott. Here we break down the possible inspirations behind the looks.

1. Guy Fieri. The Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives host is not afraid to rock a hot rod shirt with flames going up the sleeves. Katy Perry took this look to extremes, looking like she just stepped out of a bonfire for “Roar,” her opening number where she was also riding a giant gold lion.

2. A Beach Ball. Perry ran through the hits that made her a star including “Teenage Dream” and “California Gurls.” For her second costume change of the evening, Perry channeled a modern-day Marie Osmond in a beach ball-inspired bustier with a matching flared skirt.

3. Carl Weathers. Oh, hey Missy Elliott! Fancy seeing you here. Thank you for completely decimating the stage. Perry had trouble keeping up with the rapper who brought her A-game in a leather jumpsuit adorned with patches, but she did look cool in an oversized baseball jacket that bore the number of the 49th Super Bowl and football great/actor Carl Weathers.

4. The More You Know Logo. Perry made her own public service announcement as she soared across the University of Phoenix Stadium like a “Firework” for her closing number.
