John Travolta's Interactions with Scarlett Johansson & Idina Menzel Couldn't Be More Awkward
How do you know if you’re a red carpet pro? If neither rain, sleet, snow, or John Travolta can get in the way of your striking the perfect pose. At the 2015 Academy Awards, Scarlett Johansson was in the middle of giving the cameras her best sexy face, showing off her emerald green Versace gown, when Travolta basically assaulted her with a hug and a kiss. And if anyone thought that the actor might sit back and watch the Oscars quietly and not cause a scene like last year, boy they were wrong. The ScarJo sneak up was just a preamble to his reunion with Indina Menzel and it was just as weird as their last interaction.
Travolta co-presented the award for Best Original Song with Menzel, the woman whose name he famously botched when bestowing the same award last year. While he called her Adele Dazeem last time, he actually got it right upon second shot. But just because his pronunciation was on point, doesn’t mean he didn’t do something super weird. The Grease star attempted to make up with Menzel with a weird apology, poking fun at his past transgression, and invading her personal space. He came back this year to apologize, so he’ll have to come back again to make amends for the excessive face touching.
