Always pretend to look like you are really busy— talking on the phone, in deep discussion with the person walking alongside you (even if don’t know them), or checking the 7,567,901 emails that just keeping coming in non stop

Fashion people can NEVER go to only one event. And if you only have one event, lie. Attending any events (unless its the MET Ball or Anna Wintour’s house party) you must be running late and have at least 3 others to go to!
NEVER eat or drink at a party!

As Anna Della Russo, Vogue Japan’s creative director and a fashion week pro once said, “one must never eat or drink anything at a fashion event, ‘not chic.’” And if you have to drink, make sure it is at least Ruinart champagne (standard Veuve Clicquot is just too common).

Like certain parties (The MET Ball, Anna Wintour’s house) fashion heavyweights will only go to a handful of shows. The less shows you attend is in direct relation to how important you are!

Having a big bag or any bags that can fit more than just your credit card and lip balm is a big no no. If possible, have no bag, just your phone because you have left it all in your chauffeured car! Duh… you are big time fashion person, you don’t need to carry everything with you

Once you get inside the show, always discuss how bad the previous show was. Always comment on how uninspired you are with the shows so far (until you get to Paris that is)

Always half complain about what a fat ass you are! Make sure when you are eating fries or any carbs, do it in front of an audience or instagram it. It shows just how anti-fashion you are! “Look at me, I am eating bread, fries and pasta” when in reality, you are sharing it with 4 other fashion people, took only two bites and you did a double Ballet Beautiful session this am.

World news is the next most important thing after digesting all the news in WWD. And when there is breaking news on WWD (a designer was fired, a magazine was shuttered), your response is always: ”Everyone knew that was coming.”

You always know what’s happening because you read the New York Times, obviously! Just make sure you don’t meet anyone who actually has read more than the headlines. Though the chances of that happening are pretty slim.
