Is Cara Delevingne Done With Modeling?
Cara Delevingne on LOVE Magazine
It’s no secret that Cara Delevingne isn’t satisfied being known as simply ‘a model.’ Though the 22-year-old Brit has achieved worldwide fame appearing in campaigns for Burberry and Saint Laurent, and walking the runway for Chanel and Marc Jacobs, she’s been very vocal about her other career ambitions: Namely, acting.
As history has proven, transitioning from a model to an actor can be tough (see: Cindy Crawford and Gisele Bundchen), but Delevingne certainly seems up to the task. After appearing in a handful of minor roles, she’ll soon be starring in the new John Green drama, Paper Towns.
But, despite the fact that the film hasn’t premiered yet—meaning, there are no reviews of her performance—rumors are growing that Delevingne may be done with the modeling world for good.
According to a tweet by Nico Bellay (with intel attributed to LOVE Magazine), Delevingne has left her mother modeling agency, Storm Model Management, where she’s been signed since 2009.

That tweet seems to have stemmed from a rather cryptic Instagram comment, below, from LOVE.
Though it’s unclear where LOVE (which has worked with Delevingne on several projects in the past) got its information, there seems to be some proof backing it up: A look at Storm’s model board confirms that Delevingne is no longer listed, and a search for her name yields the result, “Sorry, there were no matches for that search.”
And while there hasn’t been any word yet from Delevingne, herself, it’s not hard to imagine her taking somewhat of a leap of faith on her burgeoning new career. After telling WSJ Magazine in May that she’s dreamt of being an actor since age 5, she said, “I don’t want to be that cliché: model-slash-actress. […] Fashion is about what’s on the outside, and that’s it. There’s no searching, it’s just creating pretty things.”
With at least three more films currently in the works—including Pan, Suicide Squad, and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets—it’s safe to say that Delevingne’s (maybe) new full-time job is off to a roaring start. We’ll miss her on the runway, though… and we having a feeling Karl will, too.

Still, if she has left the modeling world for good, it’s been quite a recent move: Just two weeks ago, Delevingne was revealed as the new face of Mango, alongside her former Burberry co-campaigner Kate Moss. Said Delevingne of her fellow Brit model, “We are a lethal combination […] It is a privilege to learn and to share this experience with her.”
Learn what from Mossy, exactly?? How to be a better model? Or the importance of being true to yourself and to follow your dreams? So many questions.
We’ve reached out to Storm Model Management for comment, and will update when we hear back.
