Ivanka Trump Has a Style Uniform: Pantsuits
Ivanka Trump is taking fashion cues from Hillary Clinton, with a devoted love of pantsuits.
The first daughter stepped off Air Force One in Warsaw, Poland on Wednesday wearing a burgundy pantsuit from Escada’s Resort 2018 line, a pair of diamond earrings, and navy blue pumps.
She and husband Jared Kushner accompanied President Donald and Melania Trump (the latter of whom arrived wearing an emerald-green, belted, suede Diane Von Furstenberg coat) to the country ahead of Friday’s G-20 Summit.
Pantsuits have clearly become Ivanka’s go-to uniform. In May, during a trip to Saudi Arabia, she wore a pale blue Escada pantsuit with a button-down blouse from the designer’s fall 2017 collection to give a speech at the 2017 Tweeps Social Media Forum and to meet with Saudi leaders.
In February, to attend a ceremony in the Oval Office to sign the Promoting Women in Entrepreneurship Act and the Inspiring the Next Space Pioneers, Innovators, Researchers, and Explorers (INSPIRE) Women Act, Ivanka popped in a cherry-red Escada pantsuit.
And to attend her father’s inauguration ceremony in January, Ivanka choose a white Oscar de la Renta pantsuit with an asymmetrical jacket over fitted pants, which she adorned with a small American flag pin.
However, on Wednesday, Ivanka — who recently said that she “tries to stay out of politics” — made more headlines for her policies than her style, receiving backlash for her “poorly reasoned” stance on paid family leave, published in a letter-to-the-editor column in the Wall Street Journal.
