Janelle Monáe Wore a Tux and a Dress at the Same Time
Janelle Monáe typically wears black and white, and the singer turned actress always manages to bring us dynamic, stunning outfits every time she steps out. On Tuesday night, the Hidden Figures star attended Marie Claire‘s Image Maker Awards in her customary color palette, serving Victor/Victoria realness in a look that was half LBD, half tuxedo.
With her hair styled in two buns, Monáe was the picture of quirky perfection in this sequined Thom Browne number. The look appeared on the label’s spring 2017 runway.
The runway version of the piece is a floor-sweeping silver confection, with a striped suit silhouette. Monáe accessorized with a collection of rings, a black-and-white striped clutch and a pair of strappy sandals. We all love a good detail, and Monáe served that with a patterned black-and-white pedicure.
