Jennifer Lawrence Makes Bradley Cooper Forget About His Breakup

What’s the best way to get over a breakup? For Bradley Cooper, it seems to be hanging out with Jennifer Lawrence. The 40-year old actor, making his first red carpet appearance since his split from his girlfriend of two years, Suki Waterhouse, didn’t seem to be in mourning over a pint of Ben & Jerry’s. Instead, he spent the night with his Serena co-star, with whom he’s also appeared in American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook, laughing and joking the (presumed) pain away.

But just because the 24-year-old can make the American Sniper actor smile, doesn’t mean their onscreen chemistry is anything more than that. ”I respect her so much as a professional, as an actor, and I think she’s the best there is,” he said, according to Us Weekly, at the Cinema Society screening of their latest film. “I just learn from her. You always want to work with people who are better than you.”

Lawrence agreed with Cooper’s sentiments. ”And I feel the same way about him,” said The Hunger Games actress, who has been in an on-again off-again relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. She added that while she and Cooper might pretend to be husband and wife, there’s only fake onscreen sex between them. 

Cooper looked dapper in a grey flannel Thom Sweeney suit, while Lawrence looked amazing in a sequin Dior minidress. Following the screening, Cooper threw on a black sweater on over his blue button down and the Dior spokeswoman changed into a silk LDB from the French fashion house.

So if you too are going through a breakup, take a tip from Cooper and hang out with J. Law instead of drowning your sorrows in booze. Or just watch one her films.
