With Julianne Moore and Dakota Johnson looking on, Jason Wu showed a BOSS collection that was, well, totally boss. The show notes talked about timeless tailoring and that is what we got! Sharp black suits for the day and precisely cut coats (specifically the one worn by Kaitlin Aas, below) that will make bundling up next winter a total joy.
It wasn’t just the clothing that delighted. The accessories were pretty spectacular too. The stand out piece being the black Jodhpur boots with white leather straps that will be on every editor’s wish list come September.
The tailored overcoat and Jodhpur boots that left us swooning.
“I loved it, I thought it was great,” Moore told us after the show. “Especially the gray and the orange together. I like how precise everything was, how everything was cut so well. And so carefully. There was nothing careless about it. I liked how deliberate it was.”
The show was the actress’s last pit stop before heading to L.A. for Oscars weekend. If Vegas is any indication, she’ll be returning with a Best Actress statuette for her work in Still Alice as the betting line has her at 1-9 odds. So how does she prepare for all of this red carpet madness? “Nothing really,” she said with a laugh. “Just no sushi the night before!”
Sleek black suiting for day.
A trio of spectacular chain mail-esque dresses closed out the show.
