Kate Middleton's Magical ASOS Dress Is Already Sold Out
Kate Middleton is 8 months pregnant. Block out April for royal baby watch becuase, as the Duchess of Cambridge admitted to a volunteer at Brookhill Children’s Centre, “I’m due mid-April, to the end of April. Not long to go now.” But looking at the 33-year-old, you might never know that.
Wearing a black and white polka dot dress from ASOS, Prince George’s mom looked, from some angles, as if she wasn’t expecting her second child soon. The frock, from the fast-fashion U.K. retailer, is $63 (£35) — but is already sold out. For good reason, the Kate Middleton effect went into full force following her latest outfit.
Middleton’s fashion choices are influential whether she’s wearing high-end custom items from designers such as Alexander McQueen and Alice Temperley or more obtainable, but still pricey, pieces from Diane von Furstenburg or Tory Burch. This particular ASOS dress is affordable for everyone. And, even though it’s a maternity dress, the site, as well as many other stores with reasonable prince points, sell very similar styles.
The cotton material is forgiving and can be adjusted to flatter anyone’s body regardless of shape or size. Polka dots, and prints in general, can also be slimming, essentially hiding and disguising by distracting. The “faux” wrap dress style (they aren’t adjustable, just appear to be), drapes and masks problem areas by cinching at the waist and expanding into a flirty skirt.
The dress might be gone — and went out of stock in just minutes — but ASOS has confirmed that it will be restocked pronto and available to purchase as soon as next week. But if you just can’t wait until then, you can get the wrap skater dress in different prints (which are just as complimentary and cute a polka dots), including butterflies and floral.
