Kendall Jenner & Cara Delevingne Embrace Like They’re Living in a Rom-Com
What’s the true mark that you’ve met your BFF match? That would be when you haven’t seen each other in a few weeks and run into each other’s arms wearing 5-inch heels and embrace until you cry with joy of being reunited. Preparing to take a cruise around Ellis Island in honor of Karl Lagerfeld—organized by V Magazine’s Stephen Gan, CR Fashion Book’s Carine Roitfeld, and style icon Amanda Harlech—Kendall Jenner screwed carefully walking the plank because Cara Delevingne was waiting for her on the other side. The girls, who will be showing Chanel’s Paris-Salzburg show in New York on Tuesday, quickly became a fashionably congealed mass of long legs and great clothes. Gigi Hadid third wheeled on the bear hug, adding even more limbs into the equation. “If this isn’t love, I don’t know what is…” the AdWeek cover star wrote on Instagram of the tender moment.

So blindsided by reconvening, the model squad seemingly didn’t even notice Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson in their midst. Yet after the pair recovered from the initial giddiness and presumably gossiped over One Direction losing Zayn Malik and Justin Bieber’s roast, they broke apart long enough to mingle with other guests including Hailey Baldwin, Ireland Baldwin, Lily Donaldson, Bella Hadid, DJ Paris Hilton, parental escort Kris Jenner, Katy Perry, Emily Ratajkowski, and more.
Some attendees embraced the nautical nature of the journey, including the “Firework” singer who wore gauchos with vertical stripes and a navy blue patent leather jacket with a collared shirt. The momager dressed in a full fur coat as if the yacht was headed towards the tundra instead of looping around Manhattan (even though she was probably the warmest one there). And while many opted for more casual clothes such as Delevingne in rippled black denim, Kendall in printed pants and a tank, others took the evening more seriously wearing their best cocktail attire. Ratajkowski donned a black dress with red feathered skirt from Marchesa, Ireland wore a long-sleeved floor-length white number, and Lily Collins wore a similar style dress but in black and topped with a Chanel tweed coat. Not a single person obeyed the traditional “no shoes on deck” rule and paraded around the large boat in wedge booties and stilettos.

Standing out in a sea of well-dressed ladies at no more than 4 feet tall was 5-year-old Hudson Kroenig. Lagerfeld’s godson and mini muse wore a captain’s hat, white blazer, and metallic sneakers, perfectly leading by example as to what’s appropriate for a night out on the water.
