Kerry Washington Is on the Cover of a Magazine With No Makeup

The barely-there makeup trend has migrated from social media selfies, to runways, and now magazines. Kerry Washington, TV’s favorite fixer, will appear on the cover of Allure, without any beauty products. The November issue, which will be on newsstands Oct. 28, has the tagline ‘Confessions of a Recovering Perfectionist,’ which seems like an appropriate juxtaposition to Washington’s fresh-faced look that the public rarely sees. On Thursday, she tweeted, “What an honor! Thanks @Allure_magazine.” In a print world where photo manipulation has historically been embraced, the 37-year-old’s au naturale look seems to speak to the negative backlash being too heavy handed with retouching has received.
