Kylie Jenner Reacts to the ‘Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge’

The so-called ‘Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge’ has been causing quite a stir across the Internet this week. It involves people—mainly teens—suctioning drinking glasses over their mouths to temporarily recreate the pillow-lipped look Jenner’s been sporting of late.

The results of the “challenge” are really painful, super gross (think extreme facial bruising), and potentially permanently damaging. Yet, the desire to get puffy lips (or, more likely, maybe end up with your face on a trend piece) has inspired hundreds of people to do it.

Now, Jenner’s speaking up. The 17-year-old reality star, who has insisted that her recently enlarged pout is thanks to makeup, not a doctor (or… a Mason jar), took to Twitter Tuesday afternoon to vaguely address all the madness:

Basically, Jenner doesn’t want to be held responsible for all the kids who’ve surely been showing up at their pediatricians’ offices with swollen lips and purple bruising. Fair enough. Surely, as with all other online fads, the Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge’s popularity will diminish in due time. Whether Jenner’s own ‘natural’ lips will follow suit is another question.
