Lady Part Costumes Ruled the Women's March

Why did Annie Sidou dress like a vagina complete with pubic hair for the Women’s March? “It was my Halloween costume and I thought it fit the day very well so I brought it with me,” she tells Yahoo Style of her pink look. Sidou, from New York, also carried a “Build a Uterine Wall” sign as she walked through the streets of Washington, D.C. “This is women all over the world coming together to send the message that we’re underrepresented and we want our voices heard,” she says of what her participation in Saturday’s protest means.

Jennifer Taves, a costume designer from Queens, was similarly inspired for her look for the Women’s March in New York. “[Yoni] is Hindu for the divine procreator of energy and the vulva,” she explained. “Basically, the spirit pussy.”

Sidiou and Taves weren’t the only ones to dress like lady parts on Saturday. From vulva hats to aureola umbrellas, female body part costumes were the most extreme outfit trend out there.
