10 Princess Dresses Lily James Should Wear During her Cinderella Reign
Lily James is taking method acting really seriously. The actress, who stars in Cinderella, seemingly hasn’t dropped character since filming wrapped as she showed up to the Los Angeles premiere of the movie looking just like a princess. Wearing an Elie Saab Haute Couture gown from the designer’s Fall 2014 collection, the 25-year-old had a full-on princess moment on the red carpet in a long-sleeved floor-length gown with light blue embroidery and beading.
But while James looks beautiful, perpetuating the Cinderella archetype might not be a coincidence. Anne Hathaway had to keep her hair shorn short and frame stick thin even after Les Miserables had wrapped to look the part in the promotional tour. Dakota Johnson, who dyed her blonde hair brown and cut bangs to play Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey, has yet to revert to the lighter shade as she’s still in the process of playing the character (see: Saturday Night Live just this past weekend). James' personal style is more mini dresses and jeans with undone hair as opposed to floofy gowns and slicked back updos.
But regardless of the fact if James is dressing as Cinderella on purpose or not, she has even more stops on her promotion tour meaning more opportunities to dress like a princess. And the actress will need additional royal-worthy dresses so Yahoo Style has picked out runway looks she should consider wearing to continue her reign.
