Madonna & Versace, Together Again
After a few years under the radar, Madonna is making her way back into the spotlight. Hot on the heels of her revealing Interview shoot, the material girl has been announced as the new face of Versace. The term “new” is relative, since this is her fourth time posing for the brand.
For her debut in 1995, Steven Meisel photographed her in a gown — looking quite angelic — dining with a giant Doberman on a patio. Later that same year Mario Testino shot her in almost exclusively all white outfits in a studio. Ten years later, she played a female power executive — naturally, Madonna was the original girl boss — for Testino again.
Nearly a decade later, power duo Mert and Marcus (they shot her for the latest Interview) have captured the perfectly toned 56-year old icon in a moody black and white campaign.
Clearly, the house of Versace knows that no body can strike a pose like Madonna.
