Madonna’s Armani Cape Causes a Catastrophic Onstage Spill
At the BRIT Awards performing her single “Living For Love,” Madonna looked fierce. Before revealing her matador-themed look, it was hidden underneath a massive Armani cape. When the wind machine went on to billow the fabric out for dramatic effect, a backup dancer was standing on the train and she got dragged down. The minotaurs immediately rushed to her side to see if she needed any help after spilling down the stairs, but at 56, Madge is a consummate professional and knows the show must go on.
After the cape caused the catastrophic collapse, she ripped it off to reveal the rest of her outfit. Wearing a matador jacket by Nicolas Jebran, red cropped pants with suspenders, and white button-down shirt with black tie, she continued her performance and finished it up without the outer layer. To reassure her fans that she was alright, the singer took to Instagram. ”Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I’m fine! #livingforlove,” she wrote in a caption alongside an illustration of the costume.
I guess it’s true what they say: Beauty (and fashion) really is pain.
