Malia Obama Celebrates the Warm Weather in Minidress
Yesterday, New Yorkers finally got a taste of spring with temperatures reaching the 80s, and they didn’t waste any time whipping out their spring wardrobes.
With warmer weather comes more leg, and no one demonstrated that better than Malia Obama yesterday. The former first daughter took to the NYC streets in a daring denim shirtdress that she never would have been able to rock when occupying the White House. The teenager headed to her internship at the Weinstein Company in a blue button-down dress with short sleeves and a collar. The loose frock barely grazed her thighs, and she didn’t supplement it with tights or pants, or anything. Well, it was almost 80 degrees. We don’t blame her for wanting a little fresh air.
She paired the dress with black Chuck Taylor Converse. And that’s it. The outfit was simple yet so risky. Luckily, the wind was calm yesterday.
While it may have looked very short on her, you have to remember she’s her mother’s daughter — very, very tall. So what might look like a normal length on her sister will look supershort on her. And she definitely shouldn’t let a few extra inches stop her from wearing what she wants.
We’re not surprised by the look of this outfit; we’ve come to realize her style is much grittier then we thought — we’re talking mom jeans and beanies. The dresses she constantly wore during her father’s time in office were misleading. But we had yet to see her in summer clothes post Obama administration, and we like what we see so far. A little risk keeps things interesting.
We have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot more of Malia’s legs in the summer months.
