Malia Obama’s Work Uniform Includes a $425 Alexander Wang Dress
Malia Obama is an intern, but her work wardrobe is #careergoals.
On Friday, the president’s daughter headed to her internship at the Weinstein Co. in New York City wearing a $425 army green Alexander Wang short-sleeved collared dress and $395 white Eden leather and suede low-top sneakers, also by the designer.
The 18-year-old is taking a “gap year” before heading to Harvard University in the fall, but she’s clearly padding her style résumé in the meantime. During her father’s farewell speech in Chicago, she rocked a $395 black-and-white Cinq à Sept Seraphina dress with a black choker.
In March, Malia wore a black bomber jacket with black leggings and $695 Phillip Lim booties. And in April, she arrived at work wearing a cap-sleeve buttoned-up denim dress that made headlines for its super-short length. Malia might even be forming her own style squad — in February, she took a ski trip to Aspen, Colo., with designer Monique Lhuillier.
Malia’s latest look was possibly an ode to her mom, Michelle Obama, who is a long-time fan of Wang. During a business meeting with singer Bono in March, the former first lady carried a $950 Alexander Wang “Attica” chain satchel while wearing a gray coat, black pants, and a black, gray, and white blouse.
As befits a young woman who’s carving out her own identity in a post-Obama-presidency world, Malia’s style is definitely her own.
