Mandy Moore on the One Fashion Staple She Just Can’t Wear
Come on, Shailene!
We’re talking about Ms. Woodley, who was a vision in black and scarlet on Saturday at Elle‘s Women in Television event, honoring the upcoming HBO miniseries Big Little Lies. It premieres on Feb. 19, and the stars of the production — Woodley, Nicole Kidman, Zo? Kravitz, and Reese Witherspoon — were out to celebrate the show at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont.
“This is a fun project for all of us to be part of, to have a show — especially now that everything has gone down in our political climate — where women are at the forefront,” said Woodley upon arrival.
The actress turned activist was eager to share her thoughts on the red carpet about how she plans to navigate a Donald Trump presidency. “Moving forward, I stand against hate, I stand against greed, I stand against patriarchy, I stand against anything that puts another down in a negative way,” she said. When asked if she will watch the upcoming inauguration, she smirked and said, “I’m taking it day by day.”
Kravitz gave her mom, Lisa Bonet, a sweet peck on the lips before heading inside to meet up with her latest beau, actor Karl Glusman. The couple was inseparable all night and sat closely at the candlelit table with their arms wrapped snugly around one another. The 28-year-old, with platinum locks, revealed that she dyed her hair the day before the cover shoot and that she’s since been loving the “fairy-ish” vibe of her frosted ’do.
Mandy Moore palled around with This Is Us co-star Chrissy Metz. Photos of Moore’s sultry blond look during her pop star days have been circulating the Web lately, and the actress is having a good chuckle at her own expense.
“I laugh and I cringe when I see those,” she told Yahoo Style. The Candy singer joked that her late ’90s look was all her own.
“I don’t look back and say, ‘Oh gosh, I remember when somebody cajoled me into wearing that particular outfit,’” she admitted. “It was always like, ‘Yeah. I remember either buying that or getting excited when I saw it at the store!’”
Nowadays, Moore aims to dress eclectic but has grown out of the notion of always having to wear a towering heel. “I don’t know if it’s my age, but I literally can’t wear high heels for more than like an hour. It wrecks the night!” she exclaimed and proudly showed off her platform footwear, swearing, “I could jog in these!”
