Melissa McCarthy Wore a Kimono With Jon Stewart’s Face All Over It

Promoting her new movie Spy, Melissa McCarthy’s been on a fashion tour de force wearing wonderful floor-sweeping gowns and cool coordinating separates at stops around the world. But on Wednesday night when the actress appeared on The Daily Show to talk with Jon Stewart, she put on her best look yet: a dress screenprinted with a collage of the talk show host’s face.

Flattered by the fashionable display of affection, Stewart told her, “I’ve wanted to say this for so long … I am all over you like a cheap suit.” McCarthy proceeded to rub the soon-to-be-retired comedian’s face, the picture versions, simultaneously saying “Hi Jon!”

Calling it a “you kimono,” the comedienne created the piece herself (she is a fashion designer after all, with a line due out in August) and didn’t buy it at a “cheap Times Square” tchotchke shop as Stewart suggested. "Sadly this is me, making it,“ she said. "This is how I’ll rock myself to sleep crying every night when you stop doing the show."

If the dress is any indication of what’s to come with McCarthy’s own clothing collection, Seven7, it’s sure to be a hit.
