Model-slash-actress is out.
Designer-slash-bodyguard is in.
That was the deal at Monday’s Met Gala, where Michael Kors was guarding millions of dollars’ worth of Lorraine Schwartz diamonds that Kate Hudson decided to turn into a headband.
“I’m her security!” Kors told us. “I’m dressed as Kevin Costner for a reason!” (Secret-Service-esque sunglasses included.)
As for Hudson, her gown was less Whitney Houston and more Malibu Barbie. “It’s our take on Chinoiserie—but in a California way,” Kors explained. “We wanted something that felt like a t-shirt but with the drama of a dress.”
“It’s a t-shirt with a train,” Hudson laughed, “and with a train and these stairs, it’s always a bit of a challenge. But this gown is super comfortable,” she said, “it truly is like a tee. If I cut off the hem, I could go running in it.”
Maybe her activewear line, Fabletics, can help her out with that…
