Cameron "I Don't Want to Get Married" Diaz and Benji Madden Are Allegedly Engaged

Cameron Diaz is allegedly engaged to Benji Madden, her boyfriend of seven months. The actress is a notorious commitment-phobe; she’s been very vocal about her desire to stay single—or, at least, far away from the altar.  Needless to say, her engagement’s surprising. In 2006, Ellen DeGeneres asked her if she and then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake were going to get married. “You know the answer to that, Ellen. I’m a commitment-phobe. Don’t want to do it,” she said. Throughout the years, she has repeated this sentiment, other times adding that she loves to collect wedding bouquets even though she’d never actually marry.

In a 2010 interview with Stylist magazine she was quoted as saying, “Who would want to be with the same person for 80 years? Why not break it up a little bit?” and just last month she told Marie Claire that she wasn’t looking for a husband—although this time she did add that she was “not not looking” for one either. Perhaps proof that Madden had already started to break her down?

Of course there’s nothing wrong with her changing her mind. In fact, Cameron Diaz is like the female George Clooney, which leads us to the burning question: will Benji Madden be declared 2015’s Most Fascinating Man by Barbara Walters?
