Nicole Miller to Brides: “Avoid Froufy Dresses and Too Much Jewelry”

Yahoo Style

As Nicole Miller says, “her bride is not frou-frou,” and a look at her new Spring 2016 collection echoes this sentiment. The 10-dress offering was the official kickoff to Bridal Fashion Week on Wednesday and stayed true to her clean, simple-line philosophy.

Ideal for boho-chic brides, the light silk-and-lace fabrics are a great option for those who are looking to avoid bling, or at least keeping the sparkle to a minimum. That way they can leave the sparkle coming from the extra coin in their wallets. The price range from $1,200-$1,900, except for one $2,900 strapless stunner with a skirt covered in fabric leaves.

Miller hit all of modern-day brides biggest asks, including illusion necklines that were lightly embellished, low-cut backs, V-necks with decorative inserts, and elaborate back detailing. Trains were short, except for one circle train that complemented a romantic floral embroidered bodice.

As for style advice for brides, Miller suggests limiting your jewelry. “I’ve seen some looks get ruined with the wrong necklace, or wearing a necklace and earrings where the earrings are too big and it’s too much,” she says. “I tend to prefer earrings to a necklace, because a necklace can be distracting.”

The new collection will be available this fall at nicolemiller.com, and at salons nationwide.
