Peekaboo Cutouts, Thigh-High Slits, and Open Backs Rule at the AMAs
Unlike actors who tend to play it safe, musicians can let their raucous spirit shine through on the red carpet. Attendees of tonight’s AMAs proved their fashion fearlessness in plenty of skin-baring ensembles.
The term “if you’ve got it, flaunt it” came to mind when witnessing Jennifer Lopez’s enviable physique in a bondage-esque pink satin dress. The same could be said for presenter Heidi Klum who rocked a crop top and thigh-high skirt from Versace. (Can we give it up for these ladies over 40 please?)
Khloe Kardashian, also sporting a skintight black Versace dress, arrived with the sisters Jenner in tow. And although neither Kendall nor Kylie knew how to pronounce the names of the designers that they were wearing (Yigal Azrouel and Alexandre Vauthier, respectively), they were unabashed in their leggy styles.
Our favorites of the night were the newcomers who looked like they weren’t trying too hard. “Break the Rules” darling Charli XCX vamped it up in a black off-the-shoulder confection and our cover girl Zendaya in a gold lamé trench and baggy trouser combo with a turquoise bra top by Georgine. “I just want to have fun on these red carpets,” she said before the show. “I’m 18 so why not?” We couldn’t agree more.
