People Are Not Happy Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid Walked With Wings at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid not only walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Paris on Wednesday, they also had the privilege of walking with wings. And while it might seem like a small detail, walking with wings is considered a pretty big deal for models in the show, because not all of them are outfitted with a pair. The wings are usually given to seasoned veterans like Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio, who have both worked with the lingerie brand for years and are most often associated with it.

Also, while many models consider it an honor to wear them during the highly anticipated show, it’s worth noting that the wings are incredibly heavy and can extend to up to seven feet, making them quite difficult to walk with.

And so, naturally, with Jenner and Hadid’s wing status this year came disgruntled Victoria’s Secret fans who didn’t believe the two young models had earned the right to wear them. Users took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the matter.

One user took issue with the fact that certain models for the brand who have been awarded “Angel” status in the past did not walk with wings, while Jenner did.

Another user — whose comments have been retweeted more than 1,400 times — questioned why Jenner’s wings were so much larger than veteran supermodel Adriana Lima’s this year.

The ruckus over whether or not the new supermodels are suitable wearers of wings is almost expected, given their fame. But while we can all obsess over the size of their wings and how the celeb duo looked in them, we’ll have to wait till the show airs on Dec. 5 to check out the quality of their struts.
