People on Twitter Are Making So Much Fun of Donald Trump Jr.
In a recent New York Times profile of the eldest son of the 45th president of the United States, the younger Trump is described as follows: “Donald Trump Jr. is the Trump who has not always seemed at ease with being a Trump.” Perhaps the ensuing fallout on social media around the profile, and its lead photograph specifically, are examples of why he’s so uneasy. Shifting between poking fun of his posture, his flannel shirt, or his squeaky-clean outdoor footwear, critics and comedians on social media do not seem to want to let up on Donald Trump Jr. this weekend.

The prominent photo — in a rugged, outdoor setting — is an appropriate background based on many of the details in the profile, including the fact that Trump Jr. was “happy to escape the gilded trappings of his Manhattan childhood to spend parts of the summers hunting and fishing with his maternal grandfather in the woods of what was then Czechoslovakia.” Yet, the image of him seated on a stump on his father’s upstate New York estate may have come across as more awkward than intended.
Observers across social media quickly jumped on his sitting position, making the 39-year-old businessman the butt of quite a few potty humor jokes:

Which coincided with opinions on his posture:

And then moved onto socio-political jokes:

And requisite out-of-touch-rich-guy jokes:

And ultimately onto how fresh his footwear looks — fresh, in the sense that his boots don’t seem very broken in for this rugged, outdoorsy life:
It's @DonaldJTrumpJr trying to look like an outdoorsy, every man. Then you look at those brand new boots that have never been worn before ???? pic.twitter.com/QTYi2nIA32

Again, straight from the Times profile, Trump Jr. is described as being a “defender of the family name.” If he pays any attention to the chatter on Twitter (his father’s favorite platform), he may have his work cut out for him.
