The Body Image Book Changing the Plus Size Conversation
Plus size models are making an impact on the fashion industry, but it’s the people behind the camera embracing their bodies that, while they don’t receive as much attention, are shaping the shifting conversation. Victoria Janashvili, is one of these photographers, and with multiple shoots featuring women of all shapes and sizes she has contributed to the transforming outlook on body image within the media industry and beyond. Furthering this mission, Janashvili is publishing a book celebrating all body types — short and tall, skinny and curvy, black and white.

"Even though the average American woman is a size 14, our society continues to set stereotypes as standards when it relates to the real body image of women," Janashvili wrote on her Kickstarter. “Through my book, I would like to continue to spread the mission and break social stereotypes, so we can take a stand on women feeling confident within their own skin.”

Models Denise Bidot and Marina Bulatkina are two of the outspoken women that will appear in the book and even strip down and bare all, covered in just white paint. Images just like these will grace the pages of the book and Janashvili believes that a publication like this will spread “love, happiness, and relief” and possibly even save some lives.
