Priyanka Chopra's Bare Legs During Meeting With India's Prime Minister Called 'Disrespectful'
Starring in her latest film and also in the ABC show Quantico, actress Priyanka Chopra is one busy woman — so it’s easy to see why she had no time to change outfits in between promoting Baywatch and meeting India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Berlin on Tuesday. Still, that didn’t stop Internet critics from calling her disrespectful.

Chopra opted for a floral print and lace dress with bell sleeves from Australian designer Zimmerman to meet with press, as she showed in her Instagram Story. Later, she sat down with Modi, who just so happened to be in Germany too — and didn’t put on a dress that covered her legs for the meeting.
But it was not the repeating outfits that caused a stir in social media. It was her legs.
“Priyanka you were sitting with the Prime Minister of our country. You should have at least had the basic sense of covering your legs,” wrote one of the 2,700-plus Facebook commenters on her picture. Wrote another, “At least show some respect and courtesy in front of our Prime minister..priyanka u r disgusting.”
However, she has received overwhelming support for her choice as well, including on Twitter and Instagram, where the discussion of her outfit choice was blowing up.
Pray tell me how wearing a rather conservative-looking dress is being "disrespectful" to the PM? Ye thoda zyaada ho gaya ????#PriyankaChopra

The obsessive need for women to be covered-up & desexualized around an elder male figure has to go. #PriyankaChopra

“Looking fabulous! Ignore the trashy trolls babe. India is proud of its daughter – sister – mother they find in you. Your body is beautiful and you are beautiful because you so elegantly own it! #feminist #voices,” wrote one of her Instagram followers.
Chopra has called herself a feminist, which she described as “women wanting to make their own choices and not being judged for them,” in a recent Yahoo Style interview. She also responded to the critics of her exposed legs in what many have called a classy way: With a simple follow-up photo.
